Devin was a camper at Cedarwood for 4 years in which he attended one week every summer, both fall and winter retreats and the spring snowboard trips as well as just about every Monday guys night in the city. Camp Cedarwood is where he learned about Jesus from the staff and it is also the reason why he became a Christian. Devin worked at camp for 3 summers following being a camper and was a Leader in Training, Summer Counselor and finally the Video Editor.
Now, 13 years later, after receiving an email asking for volunteers for the summer season Devin and his wife started talking about moving out to camp for the summer to help out. After a very short journey the decision was made to quit his job as a paramedic and move to camp for year round ministry work. He started with YFC right as summer camp 2022 was beginning. He and his family moved out to Cedarwood on a Saturday and started summer camp the next day.
Camp Cedarwood is also where he met his wife. They have been married for 11 years and have 3 daughters. They love being out at Cedarwood and look forward to being a part of the YFC team while furthering God's kingdom together.
Aaron joined the Camp Cedarwood family in the fall of 2022 as Facilities Manager. Having worked for 15 years in the construction industry, and 2 years as a chaplain with HavenGroup, Aaron found this position to be the perfect combination of his passion for working with his hands, and building God’s kingdom.
He is married to his Bible College sweetheart, Becky, and together they have three children. Music/singing, fishing, camping, and woodworking are among his greatest interests.
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” ~Proverbs 3:5-6
Rod felt called to ministry for many years but was waiting for God to reveal where He wanted him to serve. He and his wife decided to leave it totally up to God and not rush things. God opened all the doors, and their family moved from Steinbach to Cedarwood within 3 weeks. Rod started working at Cedarwood on November 4, 2019, as the Food Services Manager. He and his wife, Stephanie, have been married for 9 years and they have 2 children. They absolutely love living and serving at Cedarwood!
In her last three years of bible school God has put a passion into Tyla’s heart to work with youth and to share Jesus and His love for them. She is excited to interact with youth no matter where they come from or what they are going through. She was impacted by my youth mentors and also has fond memories of camp and hopes to bring youth the same experience of fun, joy, hope and peace that she had received from discovering Jesus.
Tyla loves music, playing guitar or singing, spending time outside. Being with her friends and family are where she feels most at home. Being involved in her home church and youth group has always been a big part of her life, which feels like a second family.
Now starting as a staff member for Camp Cedarwood she can’t wait to see what God’s plan is with herself and the campers and staff she will meet.
