VOLUNTEER AT CAMP DURING OUR RENTAL SEASON
We live and do ministry out at Camp Cedarwood. We provide a welcoming environment for school, youth, church and family groups to come experience many activities, to reconnect with one another, or grow in God.
One of our best assets is our incredibly staffed Kitchen, who work non stop to accommodate busy schedules, hungry teens, many food restrictions and top notch menus. Throughout the years we have been blessed with many kitchen volunteers. These volunteers allow the regular kitchen staff to exceed regular standards and get some well earned rest.
If serving alongside our kitchen staff would be something you are willing and able to do, we and our groups would be so grateful.
Most of you have some sort of past here at Camp Cedarwood, and we think that this is a great opportunity for us to stay connected.
Our greatest desire would be to have semi-regular volunteers. If we could have commitments of even two or three weekends a year, our community would benefit greatly.
Whether or not you are familiar with volunteering, our aim is to humbly accept your time, but also do our best to offer you some of your own time to enjoy our facility and grounds. This is your weekend, and we hope that in addition to an opportunity to serve, you can find rest and rejuvenation in your time here.
Here's what we're proposing:
Friday: arrive anytime after 6 (possibly earlier can be arranged) and have the evening to use what you like, provided you check what the group plans to do.
Saturday: come to breakfast at 8:30am, and following that do a 5 hour shift. This will entail helping with breakfast dishes, then other prep work the kitchen has for you. Of course there is also time to sit and enjoy your own lunch in the middle!
You then have the afternoon to relax or be active, arriving back for supper at 5:30. Following dinner, help with dishes and kitchen cleanup, ending by 7pm. This leaves the rest of your evening to relax and use our facilities.
Sunday: come to breakfast at 8:30am, and again help until just after lunch when the kitchen is cleaned for the night by 2pm.
You are then welcome to stay for the afternoon, provided you clean up after yourself and are respectful of the other families who are also enjoying their Sunday afternoon. Departure times are flexible!
We are very grateful for volunteers! They are a blessing to staff and patron alike. As with the entire camp lifestyle, nothing is completely written in stone. We will do our best to adapt to your needs as we hope you do the same for ours.
If this is something you are open to do, or even inquire about further,
